Play therapy involves so much more than just play!  Children lack the same verbal communication skills, so in order to decipher what is going on for them, the therapist meets them in their world and teaches them in a way that they understand.  Your therapist will use a variety of play styles depending on what they need and their interests. Some include play with: story telling, role playing, puppets, art, blocks, dolls, and more!

As a parent, it can be difficult to know if or why your child is struggling. Many behavioral issues such as tantrums, extreme shyness, aggression, defiance, social or school issues are  actually signs of anxiety, depression, grief, or other mental health struggles. Our pediatric therapists specialize in working with children ages 5-9 years old. We can help identify underlying causes and work with you and your child to solve the issue, so you and your family can have a healthier and happier life.

Adolescence is a turbulent time in a child's life. There are so many changes happening and too many issues are written off as "teen angst." Getting your teen in therapy will provide them with the tools and skills they need to navigate this time and beyond. We work with adolescents ages 10-17 struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma,  anger,  ADHD,  eating disorders,  self esteem and more.

Families play a crucial role in supporting children in their mental health recovery, especially if there is sibling or family conflict occurring.  We take a collaborative approach so that all family members feel supported and understood. You can expect to learn healthy communication skills, coping skills, boundary setting and emotional regulation techniques.  We can help your family reconnect and live in harmony.

Family Therapy

In Parent coaching,  you will engage in live coaching sessions, getting feedback in real time so you can learn how to best interact with your child who is struggling with behavioral or mental health issues.  It typically is only used with children or young adolescents. It differs from family therapy in that sessions are focused on how best to support the child, instead of creating harmony in the entire family unit.  Expect sessions to be hands on and skills based. You will walk away with scripts and tools to best support your child.
